It is an undeniable fact that in Africa, as in other parts of the world, the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI), is boundless. We have noted that its capacity to simulate human thoughts and communication has sparked both excitement and concern. The young people are not left out in the excitement it is creating in the whole world.
Though there are some in the older generation that still have fears that its misuse could lead to negative consequences for humanity, despite the concerns, the Bluechip Data Technology company has just put together a very well-attended AI Summit in Eko Hotel, Lagos. The Conference which was held on Monday, December 2nd saw an unprecedented number of participants, an affirmation that AI has come to stay. In the course of the conference, emphasis was placed on the role of AI in an AI-driven content world, powered by machine-generated data.
The Nigerian Government has also embraced the AI plans for exponential growth in data volumes. Francis Sani, a Technical Adviser on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Capital to the Federal Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, gave an inspiring address on how the Nigerian civil service can take advantage of AI to increase the speed of work and deliveries across all fronts.
Indeed, Artificial Intelligence has really come to stay around the world, Africa not exempted. So, with AI working in unified data ingestion and management, robotics, security and data control etc, young people should position more for an AI driven world and work more on getting the best from the AI future that has come to stay. In otherwords, intentionally get the best from AI.
