The Minister of Industries, Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite is expected to declare open the event while the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr Joseph Osanipin, will function as the Chief Host.

The Nigeria Auto Industry Summit (NAISU), is being organised by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), in partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council, (NADDC).

The event is scheduled to be held at Radisson Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Among other advantages, it is envisioned as an annual flagship event of the country’s automotive industry, to rally all stakeholders together to explore the great potentials in the country’s automotive sector, for national development.

The Chairman of the organising committee, Femi Owoeyeye says “Initiating this summit is vital, especially at this moment in history, when Nigeria is struggling to map its way out of the prevailing global economic despair.” Experts think that one of the drivers of the global economy is the automobile industry, if given the necessary impetus in Nigeria, it is capable of transforming the country into an automotive manufacturing hub in Africa.

In line with this major automotive event, the Nigeria Auto Industry Summit is to annually produce significant information that would help the government make the needed contributions for the sector.

Annually, the summit is supposed to give a single and united voice for the auto industry leaders to set a developmental agenda aimed at kick-starting and driving relevant government policies for the sector. This is all geared towards the sustainable development of the automotive industry in Nigeria.
