The highly anticipated Dangote refinery, touted as a game-changer for Nigeria’s oil industry, is set to launch its full operations. However, a shocking revelation has emerged, casting a shadow over the project’s transparency and fairness. NNPC, the government-owned oil giant, has secured an exclusive deal to purchase Dangote’s fuel output, sparking concerns about the motivations behind this secret agreement.

Rumours are swirling that Dangote will supply fuel to NNPC at an inflated price, which will then be subsidised for the Nigerian market. This raises serious questions about the government’s involvement in this deal. Why is NNPC, the sole buyer and middleman, dictating the terms of sale in Nigeria? What happened to the promises of transparency and competition in the oil industry?

The secrecy surrounding the MOU between Dangote and NNPC has fueled speculation about the true nature of this deal. Is NNPC trying to protect Dangote’s interests at the expense of Nigerian citizens? Or is there something more sinister at play?

The impending exposure of the clandestine agreement between Dangote and NNPC looms large, as Dangote’s international market sales will inevitably reveal the truth. With global price transparency, Dangote cannot maintain a dual pricing system, selling at a higher rate in Nigeria and at a lower rate abroad. This discrepancy will shine a spotlight on their surreptitious deal, tarnishing the reputations of both parties and jeopardising future business dealings.

As the truth begins to unravel, Nigerians demand answers. What is the exact nature of the agreement between Dangote and NNPC? Why is the government pretending to subsidise fuel prices when the refinery’s output is expected to meet local demand? Who benefits from this secret deal, and at what cost to the Nigerian people?

The unfolding drama surrounding the Dangote refinery and NNPC’s secret agreement has sparked a national conversation about transparency, accountability, and the role of government in the oil industry. As the situation continues to unfold, one thing is certain – this shady deal will have far-reaching consequences for all parties involved.

As the international community becomes aware of this price disparity, the shady dealings between Dangote and NNPC will be laid bare, embarrassing both entities. To avoid this reputational damage, Dangote should reconsider its partnership with NNPC and extricate itself from the corrupt web that NNPC has spun. By doing so, Dangote can maintain its integrity and avoid being complicit in NNPC’s questionable practices.

  4. I do enjoy the way you have framed this specific matter plus it really does present me a lot of fodder for consideration. However, coming from what I have seen, I really trust when the remarks pack on that men and women remain on issue and in no way embark on a soap box of the news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this excellent piece and while I do not really go along with it in totality, I value your point of view.
