President Tinubu Honours Professor Wole Soyinka

BlossomNigeria says well done to President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has formally acknowledged the nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, and has named a highway in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) after him.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed this, saying that the President officially named the ‘Arterial Road N20 from Northern Parkway to Outer Northern Expressway’ (ONEX), as Professor Wole Soyinka Highway.

The FCT Administration (FCTA), made the decision in honour of the playwright, poet, and novelist, as he clocks 90 on July 13, 2024. They recognise the fact that Professor Wole Soyinka is the first African to win the Nobel Literature Prize, in addition to several other literary awards.

BlossomNigeria commends Professor Wole Soyinka, that has remained focused through the years on his literary initiatives, while also acting as a check to the Nigerian government at different times.
